- Washington DC, 12-JUL-92: Douglass Systems Corporation (DSC) announced today
- the release of PICTS -- the Photographer, Image, and Client Tracking System.
- PICTS is specifically tailored to meet the wide range of problems encountered
- in managing stock photography collections. The core of the system is the PICTS
- software, which is used with optional barcode hardware to provide a complete
- management and operations support system.
-
- "PICTS was designed from the beginning to meet the needs of a wide range of
- stock photography and photo library professionals" said Seth D. Martin,
- President of DSC. "PICTS simplifies control of operations, services
- photographers, tracks images, speeds response to clients, and streamlines
- accounting."
-
- DSC developed and field tested PICTS over a two year period with Folio, Inc., a
- stock photography agency in Washington DC. Susan P. Soroko, President of Folio,
- called PICTS "very user friendly. The cell titles, menu items, and button names
- are pretty close to self-explanatory -- PICTS can practically teach itself...
- Don't be fooled by PICTS' simplicity, its minimalism is its brilliance and its
- power."
-
- Martin says DSC uses a "client-centered" approach to developing computer based
- systems. He explains, "We work closely with our clients to analyze their
- existing operations and management systems. On that basis we identify
- achievable improvements and derive computer support options. We use both
- technical and human resource expertise in dealing with client needs from short
- term problem solving to long term, complex projects." DSC has been located in
- Washington DC, since 1983.
